“Cathedral of Christ the Light” – multiple Award winning project
The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California has received the American Institute of Architect’s Institute Honor Award, the profession’s highest recognition; granted to works that exemplify excellence in architecture.
The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California has received the American Institute of Architect’s Institute Honor Award, the profession’s highest recognition; granted to works that exemplify excellence in architecture. Crowning the 135 foot structure is the Lindner Oculus ceiling system. The project has also been awarded CISCA’s Construction Excellence Award in two categories - the Best of the West Region and The Founders Award, which is given annually to the best overall project in the United States.
Lindner USA played an important role in collaboration with the architect and project team to develop a custom LMD-E 203 ceiling and suspension system, these efforts permitted Linder to accomplish the challenging demands of this project, from seismic engineering to precision manufacturing, allowing for a unique panel design which provided an evolving light environment. Lindner’s extensive experience in metal ceilings proved to be the right solution for this one of a kind architectural milestone.
